Department Overview

The Department of Economic Development, Planning & Tourism made advancements on a wide range of projects spanning a number of disciplines. Our work here at the Department serves a range of clientele including the County Legislature, local communities, businesses and residents of Cattaraugus County. Although the projects are very diverse in subject matter, we are guided by several key objectives:

In order to accomplish these goals we must start with our human resources. The staff of the Department is highly qualified, motivated and team-oriented. The staff consists of ten County employees and two Business Development Corporation (BDC) employees.

So much of our work is based on the professional volunteerism of our boards, participation
of municipal officials and careful oversight of our County Legislature and County
Administration. I would also like to personally acknowledge the support that we receive
