Information on the Become a Lifeguard at the State Park position

Become a Lifeguard for the State Park!  Now is the time to start thinking about summer!  The New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is looking for qualified candidates at State Parks across New York. 

Prior to Employment, State Parks Lifeguards Must:

1.  Be at least 16 years old

2. Have current certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR for the professional rescuer.

3. Successfully complete the NYS lifeguard qualifying procedure. 

4. Successfully complete a personal interview with the hiring agency.
