VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN RANDOLPH FOR BLIZZARD BAG PACKING PARTY

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12

The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging’s Senior Wellness and Nutrition program is asking the Randolph community to donate an hour or two of their time to Share the Love and Nourish their Neighbors at a Blizzard Bag Packing Party. The event will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 1:00, at the Randolph Municipal Building, located at 72 Main Street.

Volunteers are needed to help pack 600 bags with shelf-stable food. The bags will be distributed to Meals on Wheels recipients throughout Cattaraugus County for use in the event of a weather emergency when Meals on Wheels cannot be delivered. Refreshments will be provided, and participating volunteers will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Walmart gift card!

Please call the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging at 716-373-8032 if you would like to help pack bags for this vital and fun-filled event.

This event is made possible through the Nourishing Neighbors Grant in partnership with Sysco, by the Subaru Share the Love Grant through Meals on Wheels America, and by a generous donation from Kellogg’s.

Since 2008, Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers have helped Meals on Wheels nationwide deliver more than 2.2 MILLION MEALS to seniors in need. When customers select Meals on Wheels as their charity of choice during the 2019 Subaru Share the Love Event, Cattaraugus County Meals on Wheels will be able to serve even more seniors. www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/sharethelove

Through the Nourishing Neighbors program, Sysco is making a commitment to help solve hunger in the communities they serve. A portion of every Sysco brand case sold locally will be donated to charitable organizations in the community, and at least 75% of the donations will go to charities that help feed people.
