Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of three additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now twelve as there are two hundred and nine residents who have recovered from COVID-19.


The two hundred and twenty fifth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who has recently traveled to North Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He denies being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but recently developed fever, running nose, headaches and muscle aches. He was tested for COVID-19 on September 26th and his test results on September 29th indicated that he was positive for the virus.


The two hundred and twenty sixth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. He denies being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and he was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on September 28th as part of the requirement to undergo a surgical procedure and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.


The two hundred and twenty seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. She denies being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but recently developed a sore throat, headaches and muscle aches. She was tested for COVID-19 on September 25th and her test results on September 28th indicated that she was positive for the virus.


The two hundredth and twenty third confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history and denies any contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She is a healthcare worker who developed fever, chills, nausea, headaches, muscle aches and loss of taste and smell. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on September 29th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.


The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
