Children's Camps in Cattaraugus County require inspection and a "Permit to Operate" issued by the Health Department.  They are defined as any camp (day camps and overnight camps), maintained for occupancy by 10 or more children provided that overnight occupancy is greater than 72 consecutive hours, or daytime occupancy is more than five days in any two-week period.

Each Children's Camp receives a minimum one inspection per year to ensure compliance with "10NYCRR, Subpart 7-2: Children's Camps".  They may also be required to meet the requirements of a public water supply, if water is provided by an onsite source.  Please contact the Environmental Health Division for more information.  These facilities normally require plan review and approval prior to construction.
